I think I will read 3 or 4 chapters in Joshua and 1 or 2 in 1 Nephi. I should finish or almost finish Joshua next week.

Deuteronomy- Done
I was going to go back to the New Testament but now I think I am going to stick with the Old Testament. I would like to see the people get to the promised land and what happens next. I am also interested in reading more about Joshua. I didn't remember that anyone was kept alive to enter the promised land because even Moses died before they went in, he did see it though. Joshua and Caleb got to go to the promised land because when they went to go check things out the other 10 guys were afraid and scared people off but Joshua and Caleb wanted to be obedient and go possess the land the Lord had prepared for them.

Goals
I finished my goal ending the week of April 10th. For the week after my goal was to finish Numbers - 11 chapters and read in Psalms since I would be at school. I am beginning to wonder what I will do at onsite in the future because I am quickly running our of Psalms. So I have one chapter left in Numbers to read tonight.
For this coming week Mon 18th - Sun 24th I am going to try to read Deuteronomy. It is 36 chapters so it works for a week. I am not sure if I will be able to do that as most of the books of Moses have been kinds dry, well Leviticus and Numbers with all their rules, temple building instructions and sacrifices. But maybe Deuteronomy will pick up some. They are close to the promised land and from what I can tell we are getting more back into story mode rather than instructions. If Deuteronomy is too difficult I will start reading 1 Nephi with it and take 2 weeks for Deuteronomy. Have been reading the back of the Book of Mormon but I think it is time to go to the beginning now. Didn't want to read it first because I have read it so many times then stopped. Now that I am going pretty well I think I can do it now.
I still want to stick with reading like I have been but next year I think I am going to pick a smaller amount and study it more because while I am getting some out of this, i know I am missing stuff especially in the less exciting books.

Where I'm at update
I added up chapters to make sure I am still on track (should be as I haven't missed any days I know of.) I have read 328 chapters and my new daily amount I have to read is 4.4 chapters a day which is down a tiny bit. Which it should be after reading extra this week! I am going to stick with 5 chapters a day til summer. In summer I am hoping to read extra so in the fall I can decrease to 4 or possibly even 3 chapters a day as I am likely to be much busier!
Goal for this week!
After reading Leviticus a bunch of chapters in a row and then Ether I am sooooo grateful for how easy the Book of Mormon is to read compared to the Old Testament. I think it is the easiest book to read. I think I will try to read other books in the morning and then one or two chapters from the Book of Mormon at night when I am more tired and less able to try to figure out/remember which one was the sin vs meat sacrifice...
I am also going to try to stick with the Old Testament til I am done with the books of Moses. That is through Deuteronomy (I am 99% sure about that). Then I will add in some more New Testament stuff.
This week Mon April 4th - Sunday April 10th (week start days are arbitrary)
For Book of Mormon I am going to read 4th Nephi & Mormon (10 chapters) and through ch 25 in Numbers. Finishing Numbers would be nice but I am starting school again so I don't know if I will have time, especially with travelling.
Next week is a school week but I think I would like to finish Numbers - which could be done Sat & Sun after I get back and then read Psalms through 102 which would make the total be 35 chapters for the week. I will post next Sunday if I remember to revise/update.
Leviticus has lots of rules!
Aside from many sacrifices Leviticus has lots of rules. Some of them I really don't understand and others I think I know what they are saying but they don't make much sense to me. Like why a woman is unclean 2x as long when she gives birth to a girl vs a boy. It also helped me to understand some Jewish traditions better but I didn't see anything that explained why their Sabbath is on Saturday. Everything says the 7th day. It seems like people arbitrarily decided when the first day of the week is so the 7th day being Saturday seems arbitrary. I did some looking up on the internet and it says that Jesus rose from the tomb the day after the Sabbath which is why Christians celebrate on Sunday - the first day of the week. I don't know if that is accurate. Well I know that is the day they found the rock moved, but I am not far enough into the NT to know if they started meeting on Sunday after the Lord was resurrected. I don't personally think they exact day is as important as some people make it out to be (like Jews and Christians fighting over who is right) as long as you keep your Sabbath day holy.
And the reason Leviticus has so may rules seems to be because the people were unable to govern themselves and kind of liked to bend the rules if they were vague or flat out make things up - like worshiping the golden calf. I am glad that we now have more principles and guidelines and are for the most part left to govern ourselves. Although in some respects I see much more defined guidelines, like for the strength of youth being more specific on what defines chastity etc. Which is sad because that implies we aren't doing so well...
Goal for the week of March 28th-Apr 3rd
My goal for this week was to finish Leviticus (21), the chapters I had skipped in Doctrine & Covenants (8) and finish Ether ( 9). That is only 3 extra chapters but I remember thinking it was more so I might not have made the goal until after I had read 7 chapters in Ether... At least 2 days this week, if not 3 I was too tired to read much so I read in Psalms, it has shorter chapters. So this morning, the last day to finish I had 8 chapters to read in Leviticus, 8 to read in Ether and 5 in Doctrine & Covenants. I finished Leviticus on the way to church and between conference sessions. The skipped chapters in Doctrine & Covenants during songs in the PM session and on the way home. I have 3 chapters left in Ether, I am reading a chapter and doing a round of FF then reading another chapter. For this break I decided to post. Hopefully I will be finished soon and can set a new goal for next week. one that I will stick to better throughout the week so I don't have to read over 20 chapters on Sunday. Reading scriptures is a good Sunday activity but it would be nice to do it at a more leisurely pace.
